Dream Big - Rubik Cube Martin Luther King Portrait
Designer Pete Fecteau, spent 40 hours configuring a monumental mosaic of Martin Luther King Jr. made entirely out of Rubik’s Cubes called Dream Big. Each cube was “reversed solved” or twisted so that one of the faces maps it’s nine stickers into the total image, that’s 38,178 stickers in total!
With a computer generated draft as his blueprint, Pete used 4,242 Rubik’s Cubes to construct the 18’ 6” x 9’ 8” piece that, once completed, weighed about half a ton.
Today is 11/11/11. In one hundred years it will be 11/11/12. You must add one year because the earth wobbles on its axis and time must be adjusted forward every 100 years to compensate. Then you multiply 12 by the number of the beast and two-thrids.
12 x 666 and 2/3 = 8000.
THEREFORE, 11/11/11 won’t happen again for 8000 years.
I hope that clears up any confusion.

OOOOH!
Tōhoku Japanese Earthquake Sculpture by Luke Jerram.
About the piece:
This sculpture was made to contemplate the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami in Japan. To create the sculpture a seismogram of the earthquake, was rotated using computer aided design and then printed in 3 dimensions using rapid prototyping technology. The artwork measures 30cm x 20cm and represents 9 minutes of the earthquake.
Look for it soon at the Jerwood Space in London for a show called Terra. The show will also include his fantastic virus sculptures.
You may remember Luke Jerram for placing pianos all over Grand Rapids during ArtPrize 2010.
“This book is full of plot holes and inconsistencies. 1.5 out of 5 stars. Enjoyed the Flood but would not read again.”
